LIDC Short Course- Evaluation: From Innovation to Impact
LIDC's Short Course entitled “Evaluation: from Innovation to Impact” will be held from Monday 4 November to Friday 8 November 2019. The course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive background in evaluation methods for development programmes. Students will also develop their own evaluation protocol to apply their learning to a contemporary development problem.

The course will be held from 9am – 5pm Monday 4 November to Friday 8 November 2019 from 9am to 5pm each day. It will take place in Teaching room B204 (Brunei Building/Gallery, second floor SOAS), SOAS, University of London Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG
The course is for people who have a relevant Master's or postgraduate qualification and professionals, but we will also consider applicants with a bachelor degree and extensive work experience.
The programme will include sessions on quantitative and qualitative research as well as methods and impact evaluations. Leading international NGOs, Oxfam GB and Christian Aid, will deliver sessions on impact evaluation in development practice. Tutors will include academics and practitioners from the following organisations:
- London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
- SOAS University of London
- UCL Institute of Education
- The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie)
A tutor will support students all week and help them to enhance their understanding of course concepts through group work exercises.

The course fee will be £1,500. If your organisation sends two or more people on the course, there will be a 10% discount on each person’s fee. The fee includes study materials as well as refreshments during the course (tea, coffee and lunch). It does not include accommodation.
