In the fourth seminar of the LIDC-DTC ‘Understanding Development’ series we will be discussing the effectiveness of public-private partnerships. Presentations will be given by two academics from Bloomsbury Colleges.
Prof Elaine Unterhalter is a Professor of Education and International Development atthe Institute of Education, UCL.Sheworks on themes concerned with gender, race and class inequalities and their bearing on education. Her specialist interests are in the capability approach and human development and education in Africa, particularly South Africa and her current concerns are with education, poverty and global social justice.
Dr Elisa Van Waeyenberge is a research tutor in the Department of Economics, SOAS. Her research interests include international financial institutions, alternative macroeconomic policy, infrastructure financing, public private partnerships and housing policy in develeoping countries. She teaches macroeconomics and research methods.
Who should attend?
The seminar is mandatory for students on the DTC International Development pathway. PhD and Masters students, interested in development,from bothmember and othercolleges are alsoencouraged to attend.
