Less for those with least: the implications of UK Aid cuts on child malnutrition
10/12/2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
On 25 November 2020, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a cut in overseas aid, from 0.7% to 0.5% of Britain’s gross national income, slicing more than £4bn from the 2021’s ODA budget.
Charities foresee that the budget cut could result in nearly three million women and children going without life-saving nutrition and leaving 5.6 million children unvaccinated, causing up to 100,000 deaths.
In this webinar, we will discuss the implications of these cuts on Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), our ability to fund cutting-edge research and the wider ability to forge collective action to end child malnutrition.
