LIDC Workshop: Arts & Humanities Research Council & GCRF

The workshop will provide an opportunity to hear from the Arts and Humanities Research Strategy and Development Manager, Paul McWhirter, on the AHRC?s plans for supporting arts and humanities research as a part of theGlobal Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). There will be a specific focus on a newAHRC GCRF call for Area Focused Large Grantsannounced on 31st October 2016 and will provide an opportunity to speak to Research Council staff about possible applications.
The workshop will focus around two key themes:
- The opportunities of AHRC GCRF calls for interdisciplinary research with arts and humanities focus,
- Panel discussions on how LIDC member colleges would develop proposals that fit in the AHRC GCRF call.
Format of Workshop
15.00-15.10 Introduction (LIDC Director, Peter Mollinga)
15.10-15.20 Presentation by Paul McWhirter on the opportunities of the AHRC GCRF call
15.20-15.50 Presentations from 4-5 Panel members (5 minutes each) on possible AHRC funded projects that could benefit from inclusion of other disciplines beyond arts and humanities
15.50-16.30 Questions & Answers
16.30-16.45 LIDC?s role in supporting intercollegiate GCRF proposals (LIDC Programme Developer, Gek Kwan-Lim)
16.45-17.00 Close and registration of interest
