About this seminar
This LIDC Research Seminar is entitled “Mental Health for Development Professionals: An Introduction”
The speaker is Grace Ryan, a Research Fellow in Global Mental Health at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Lead Researcher of the K4D-DFID Learning Journey on mental health in international development. The purpose of this Learning Journey is to help equip development professionals to respond to the inclusion of mental health in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, within their own programmes and within the sector more broadly.
In this seminar Grace will outline key arguments for and successful examples of the integration of mental health into other areas of international development— such as social protection, physical health care and humanitarian response. She will also discuss mental health monitoring and evaluation and other entry-points for “doing more and doing better” within existing programmes.
The Zoom link for this meeting (https://tinyurl.com/y8smmtwg) is reserved from 12.45 for technical checks ahead of the seminar. If you join before 1pm, you will be able to wait in a virtual waiting room.
Once Grace has finished presenting, we will unmute the microphones for questions from the audience. You are encouraged to tweet/live tweet using the Twitter hashtag: #LIDCSeminars and LIDC’s Twitter handle @LIDC_UK
