LIDC looks forward to welcoming Francesca Tognon, MD, Researcher in the Operational Research Unit of Doctors with Africa Cuamm. She is a Public Health Expert at Doctors with Africa CUAMM, an NGO that works for health system strengthening in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Doctors with Africa – CUAMM is an LIDC member organisation working for health system strengthening in Africa. Since the outbreak of #Covid-19 it has been working to introduce in local health facilities safe triage procedures, equip local staff PPE, and prepare the health system as well as continuing its work training healthcare workers to meet the needs of local communities living in challenging conditions.
In this seminar Dr Tognon will showcase examples of best practices and challenges that CUAMM has faced when implementing research on the ground. She will also discuss the importance of creating strategic research partnership.
She started her collaboration with Doctors with Africa Cuamm in 2013 with a residency in Public Health specialization. She has worked with Cuamm as Project Coordinator in Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, and in 2017, she joined the Operational Research Unit as PhD student. Dr. Tognon’s areas of expertise include Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) and health system strengthening.
Dr Tognon will speak for up to 30 minutes, during which time the audience will be muted. After Dr Tognon has finished presenting, we will unmute the microphones for questions from the audience
