Val Curtis: In Memoriam
October 21, 2020
Professor Val Curtis passed away on Monday 19 October 2020. She was the Director of the Environmental Health Group at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. And so much more.
“It is with great sadness we learned of the death of our friend and colleague Professor Val Curtis. Val led the Behavioural Theme for the UKRI GCRF Action Against Stunting Hub and she was a great friend of LIDC. She was an inimitable intellectual force: she had a knack for simplifying the complex to better understand the drivers of our behaviour and hence, human nature itself. The world has lost a true interdisciplinarian. We will miss her greatly.”
– Professor Claire Heffernan, Director of LIDC and Principal Investigator of the UKRI GCRF Action Against Stunting Hub
Professor Val Curtis worked until the end. View a recording of her inaugural lecture Discovering Behaviour, which she gave at LSHTM on 15 September 2020.
