LIDC Evaluation short course: Thank you from all of us to all of you!

Lidc Seminar Wordcloud

Thank you to all those who contributed to making the 2021 LIDC Evaluation short course such a success. We’re extremely grateful to the course tutors, particularly our LIDC colleague (and LSHTM Assistant Professor)  Hugh Sharma Waddington, who deftly managed the online sessions, introducing activities to keep engagement levels high. We’ve received very helpful feedback from the course participants. We’d learned last year that the online format would undoubtedly impact on opportunities for informal networking (‘water cooler’ moments…)  so we’d like to recognise the extra effort made by staff to ensure that students were able to meet and network with one another during this year’s course.  We’re also pleased to note that students from around the world commented that they were able to take part without having to circumvent Covid-19 travel restrictions nor the stress & expense of organising visas, flights and hotels.)  Huge thanks to tutors from our member colleges, some of whom, like Melissa Neuman and Joanna Busza (LSHTM), Carlos Oya (SOAS) and Edoardo Masset (CEDIL) have taught this course for years now, refining and updating their content with the latest innovations to ensure that students are able to deliver evaluation that has impact. We’ve received very kind and positive feedback on the sessions led by our guest speakers, and are grateful to Christian Aid, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Action Against Stunting Hub – to name but a few – for being ready, willing and able to share their expertise with course participants.

If you were a student on this year’s course, we’d like to thank you again for making this course successful. Put simply, it could not have happened without you, and we are delighted to welcome you to the LIDC family (remember to sign up for your free membership, here!)
